John Murgatroyd moved to Great Chishill in the 70's.   His then neighbour, Martin Watson, who was Chairman of the Parish Council at the time encouraged John to become part of the Parish Council.  John went on to become Chairman and is currently Vice Chairman of the Council.

He is married to Vicky and has two grown up children and two grand children.
John enjoys jogging around the Chishills and long walks venturing out to the wilds of Europe and afar.
