Local Government Reorganisation
The Cambridgeshire County Council meeting of October 21, 2025 voted for replacing the current two-tier County/District system with two single unitary authorities responsible for all local services. If
approved at national level, from April 2028 Great and Little Chishill will come under the new 'South' entity that will comprise East Cambridgeshire, South Cambridgeshire, and Cambridge City. A Government decision is expected in July 2026.
