Cllr Charles Hall
I moved to Great Chishill in June 2011 with my wife Celia. We live in Colts Croft with our son, William, 9, and a recent arrival, Hobbes, a rescue cat. I've lived in the South East (Herts,Beds,Cambs) for many years and have worked for my current employer, Airbus in Stevenage, on and off for 15 years. I've lived in France for 3 years (Paris & Toulouse) and have also been fortunate as part of my work to visit places such as Budapest, Tokyo, Montreal and San Francisco. While I have a technical IT background, my role now requires strong organisational, networking and communication skills. I hope some of these will be useful as I look to make a positive contribution as a parish councillor for Great and Little Chishill.
My interests outside work include gardening, films and attending live sporting events (rugby union and motorsport especially). I am an avid Leicester Tigers supporter, although my national allegiance is with Wales. I recently returned to running and I'm working towards the sort of performances I achieved in my early twenties (I am now 49). I'm not afraid of putting in hard work to achieve goals, but time will tell if this one is within my reach. I go to Wimpole parkrun most Saturdays, either to run or help out as a volunteer marshal. I have also made my debut this year for the village cricket team.
Prior to joining the parish council I attended several meetings as a parishioner, and have expressed concerns about speculative housing developments and the dangers of vehicles speeding through the village. I'm looking forward to working with the other councillors to help keep the Chishills as a wonderful place to live.
